In Scholastic Book Clubs, Inc. v. Farr, Tennessee's Court of Appeals found that teachers and schools within Tennessee act as agents for the book retailer. The teachers and schools distribute information to the students, collect orders and payments on the company's behalf establishing sufficient presence in Tennessee requiring Scholastic to collect sales and use tax on its Tennessee sales.
